Rehan Iqbal Alikhan (born 28 December 1962) is an English-born former cricketer of Pakistani descent. He was a right-handed batsman and off-break bowler. He was born in Westminster, London. Alikhan's cricketing career began in 1986 for Sussex, for whom he made his debut against Cambridge University, and becoming a regular in the first team from the outset of his career. Alikhan made his County Championship debut against Essex, against whom he finished as the second highest scorer in his very first innings, batting from seventh in the order. Alikhan continued this impressive form while moving slowly further up the order, with his second-highest season average coming in his debut season, and seven half-centuries, his first coming against Leicestershire in an innings of 64 not out. He made seven catches in the outfield during this debut season, while Sussex finished fourteenth in the 1986 County Championship table. At the end of 1986 Alikhan moved to Pakistan to play for Pakistan International Airlines, where he debuted in the Patron's Trophy, reaching the quarter final of the Patron's Trophy before playing in the Final of the PACO Cup, which his team won by a ten-run margin. Alikhan moved back to England for the opening of the 1987 season, where he cemented himself as an opening batsman for the team, making three half-centuries during the season and representing Sussex during a Pakistani tour of England. However, Sussex finished dead last in the County Championship table, with just one win during the entire year. While the following seasons would prove poor for the team as a whole, Alikhan continued to go from strength to strength, finishing just short of his first century for the team in 1988, and not managing to reach the magic 100 mark until two seasons later, scoring the only two centuries of his career in his final two matches of the 1990 season, against Middlesex and Essex. By then he had moved from Sussex to Surrey, making the move prior to the 1989 season. Alikhan was not given another chance to hit a century innings, the closest he came being an innings of 96 not out prior to a declaration. While he remained a first-team player during the 1991 season, he played just one County Championship game during 1992, and 1993 was to prove his final season in England, moving back to play with the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation for the 1993 season, where he lasted for two years before giving up the game. ==External links== *(Rehan Alikhan ) at Cricket Archive 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Rehan Alikhan」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
